Inside the Courts: ‘Miracle’ overcomes inaccurate portrayal of mental-health laws

During this holiday season, you might have rented, as I did, “Miracle on 34th Street.”  I try to watch the film — more specifically, the original 1947 version, rather than one of the vastly inferior later remakes — at least once every season. It’s my favorite Christmas movie.
