TOMBSTONE — Wednesday morning while on his way to school, Mario Lopez was involved in a two-car accident. The Tombstone High School senior was thrown through the windshield of his car and killed.

At least that’s what students were led to believe Wednesday.

Lopez and four other students were part of a mock car accident staged by Students Against Destructive Decisions, or SADD, a school club that teaches prevention tools to help students deflect a range of bad decisions, such as drinking, impaired driving and experimenting with drugs.

This, along with Premium Obituaries is a totally disgusting act from the SV
 HERALD!

Title: WTF???

This is crying wolf. The next time someone gets into a real accident no one
will believe them.

I had to read this again. I honestly thought I misread something in this
story. I cannot believe emergency personnel would go along with something
this cruel and stupid. I’m sure there were kids traumatized over this. I
cannot believe parents wouldn’t be furious over this. If my child was a
Tombstone student, they would not have heard the end of it. Stupid way to
teach kids responsibility. Maybe one of the teachers that smoke could fake a
heart attack to scare these kids into not smoking or someone could fake a
miscarriage so kids don’t have sex. Everyone says SV has nothing for kids to
do…is this what Tombstone kids do in there free time. I think the school
staff, emergency personnel, and all involved are in need of some therapy. IF
that was my friend laying on the road and I thought they were dead, I was be
beyond grief. There’s a lesson to learn here, but faking death is not the
lesson. Shame on all of you.

I can imagine the impact this had on these high school kids. I’m sure most
was devastated and won’t forget it…a cruel and horrible way to teach
someone a lesson. This disgusted me. What if an adult drove by and knew these
kids and had a heart attack or stress witnessing something like this. This is
 sick.
