Send to friendSIERRA VISTA — Police arrested a man on Monday who is accused of molesting a girl over four years.
Rogelio A. Romo, 43, was arrested on a charge of molestation of a child. Police said the victim, a 17-year-old female, reported the charges Oct. 17 and Romo began molesting her when she was 13.
Romo was being held without bond in the Cochise County Jail.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carol Capas confirmed federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers had placed a detainer on Romo.

A few persons have stated there opinion and have made comments, now tell us
what your opinion of this “MAN” is and how you feel about the sentence he
received?
A man would never do this. Only something that you scrap from the bottom of
your shoes would. Classifying him as a MAN,is an insult to decent men. And
it’s an insult to the human race. I did understand what you were saying
though.
If the man was found guilty and sentenced to one year, then I think the judge
should go to jail. The convicted should be in prison for life without parole.
Where is justice?
Walt, there have been 2 recent cases where the victim did not get justice. If
I’m correct there is one man out there. The 34 yr old church going Army guy.
I wonder if that judge will at least be fair to the victim? Plain and simple
those 2 judges were NOT doing their job. With judges like that JUSTICE is
only found in the dictionary.
You are right, I dont unnderstand how the judge gives one “MOLESTOR” a one
year prison sentence and then another “MOLESTOR” years of prison…How is
this decision made. Sexual abuse, molestation, intent to committ and so forth
and so on are basically the same thing, a person is being abused against her
will. The article states that this “MOLESTOR” received one year based on a
agreement, what agreement??? that he won’t do it again, that he has
apoligized, that he has portrayed a act in the courtroom? How is this
possible. What if where someone in there family that had to go thru, just now
right.
He was arrested not tried yet. He has not received a sentence yet according
to this story. If you want my opinion had that been my daughter he is lucky
that I didn’t find out before the cops nabbed him.
HR, sentence was given, he got 1 yr. It is in an article from 26Feb10 under
Conviction In Molestation Case. The other sick thing got several hundred
years but only had to pay $120 for counseling for the victim.
I admit I didn’t have all the information but I was going by what was in this
particular story, not what others knew. If he only got 1 year I agree that
was wrong on the judges part. He should have got a whole lot more than that.
This guy will be out in less than a year if they take time served into
account as well. Guess they will deport him and then he will come across the
border illegally and do it again only he may kill his victim next time. Put
this guy away for a long time so by the time he does get out he is an old man
and can’t do the things he was convicted of.
Yes, he was arrested, tried in February and was sentenced to one whole year
in prison. It might not be in paper yet, why? I dont know but he is in the
ADC web site and have all this information verified. I dont understand how a
judge comes to this sentencing when this was a minor child and abused for so
long. The “MOLESTOR” has a ice hold on him, meaning they will seek
deportation, big deal, the victim faces a very, very long recovery process
and wont have it so easy. I agree with you, if this where my daughter, I
would have made sure that this man would have received more time or would
have taken the matter into my own hands. But there are many people out there
who can still make this mans life a living hell….
Why is this so hush-hush,why is not been published, it is a public record.
why can’t it be out in the open that the “MOLESTOR” has been sentenced to one
year in prison and hopefully in general population, so that he can feel what
is feels like to be molested against your will….Too bad it will only be one
year and not four years like he did this to his victim….
