HONOLULU — Buena band students took part in a balmy, breezy and mele start to the Kalikimaka season Saturday.
But, for the Marching Colts, the parade route was not Sierra Vista’s Fry Boulevard — that comes Saturday night after the students have returned to Arizona. This route was on one of the streets of a Honolulu suburb.

We moved to Oahu in January and were so pleasantly suprised to be able to see
the BHS Show Band at the Hard Rock this past week. We ran into old friends,
got to sit with Bill Hess for a moment and were treated to a wonderful
evening of music. I’m so glad these kids got to make the trip and truly hope
it is something they will remember the rest of their lives. Mahalo Nui Loa
from your Sierra Vista Friends in Hawaii. Rob and Gwen Davies
The kids did a Wonderful Job representing Sierra Vista and Arizona while in
Hawaii… Mahalo to everyone who put so much work into this trip!!! A great
time was had by all… Both the friends and family as well as the kids all
had a great time!!! Outstanding communication between the hotels!!! There
were very few dry eyes at the memorial!!! I don’t think I have experienced
something so moving!!! Great job!!! Aloha and Mahalo
Just want to say Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank you very much) to BHS for the fine job
they did in representing the Sierra Vista area. Also special mention to the
friends/family that flew out to support the band. During the Hawaii Kai
Christmas Parade on NOV 28th, the Arizona folks seemed to outnumber the local
residents on the final block of the parade. Aloha!
