Poll says Arpaio would beat Goddard in governor's race
PHOENIX — The best bet for Republicans to keep the governor’s office would be to choose Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio as the party’s nominee, a new statewide poll shows.
According to Rasmussen Reports, a head-to-head race between incumbent Republican Jan Brewer and presumptive Democratic nominee Terry Goddard would result in her ouster. The survey of 1,200 likely voters earlier this month found 44 percent of those asked favor Goddard, currently the state’s attorney general, against 35 percent who said they would vote to give Brewer a term of her own.

Joe Arpaio would bring sense to a senseless state government. Not only that
but I think there would be a much greater change for the better in border
security. He would also fight for decent school funding and cut the illegal
welfare costs down to a trickle. Joe would probably set up tent city in the
desert for those eagerly crossing our borders illegally and get funding for
decent jail security. One thing I would not want to see change is the pink
under ware, striped jail clothes and green baloney sandwiches. I will vote
for Joe any day.
I think he would be a good choice for the governor and would definitely step
up efforts on immigration, law enforcement, and other areas that need to be
addressed in our state. However, because he is not politically correct, the
media would try to take his actions and comments out of context and oppose
everything positive that he tried to do.
Joe Arapaio would do a far better job than the eras of Napolitano, Brewer and
Symington any day of the year. He is a no nonsense man with ethics and gets
things done right for the county he represents as a sheriff. Would he make a
good governor? I am sure he would but so many left wing pro-immigrant
organizations would make this choice not come to be a reality. There are far
too many liberal institutions that would present a boycott of businesses that
support Sheriff Joe that it would hurt their business life so they could not
show support to man of integrity. It saddens me when the minority pushes the
majority in to counting its dollars and pennies instead of finding and
supporting a true patriot of law enforcement and government! I would so back
Joe Arapaio if he did run for the governorship or even as a Senate candidate
to clean house where it needs to happen.
