SIERRA VISTA — A ground-breaking ceremony for the 40-foot-tall AMVETS Carillon Bell Tower in the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place at noon Wednesday.

The public is invited to attend the event, which will include a number of distinguished guests such as a representative of the governor and other state officials, plus local and Fort Huachuca representatives.

The carillon in the state-operated veterans cemetery will be a memorial in honor of area service members.
