Tanker leaks at Fort Huachuca airfield
FORT HUACHUCA — Nearly 1,500 gallons of aviation fuel leaked from a tanker at Libby Army Airfield on Thursday morning, a post spokeswoman said.
Approximately 10:15 a.m., the leak was discovered by airfield personnel, leading the fort fire department to respond, post spokeswoman Tanja Linton said.
Firefighters could not close the valve on the tanker, so they contacted the Directorate of Public Works, and a contractor’s personnel transferred fuel from one tanker to another, she said.
