The Empty Bowls Project fundraiser for local food bank efforts is planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Ethel Berger Center, 2950 E. Tacoma St. For a $10 donation, guests may choose a handcrafted bowl contributed by area potters. A simple meal of soup and bread will be served, and the bowl may be kept as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world. All proceeds will go to anti-hunger efforts.
