SIERRA VISTA — Tonight, police arrested a man in Gilbert in connection with a shooting at a party in Sierra Vista that left one man dead and another injured.

Robert T. Tillman, 20, was apprehended by Sierra Vista Police Department special operations detectives at his home in Gilbert at about 8 p.m.

Tillman is charged with second-degree murder, police said. Right now, he’s being transported to Cochise County to be booked into the county jail, said Tracy Grady, public information officer for the Sierra Vista Police Department.

Title: Respect

Most people who hate the police are people who have had run ins with them. The law enforcment is their to protect, sometimes in doing so, people feelings get hurt. They are doing their job. Sierra Vista is still a pretty safe place to live considering it’s size.

“4foundingfathers” must have an axe to grind with the SVPD…as did all three
of the males involved in the incident (Tillman, Campas & Way). They all three
had multiple negative brushes with the law. Way had some 18 traffic and
criminal problems. Tillman and Campas were the same ilk. They were trouble
makers, who went looking for trouble, found it…and now the liberal
appologists are crying for them.

4rfoundingfathers certainly jumps to a lot of conclusions! Police (in any
city) never release details of ongoing investigations. But 4rfoundingfathers
seems to think it means they are not doing anything. I have an idea for
him…why don’t you get involved with their volunteer program? Attend the
Citizens Police Academy and find out what really goes on. Jumping to
conclusions like you do only takes away from them and makes their hard job
all that much harder. Additionally, attend a concealed weapons course. You’ll
find that the idea of “self-defense” isn’t as clear cut as you might think.
Even if you never plan to own a gun, the information is outstanding!

Sounds like some information is missing here. It doesn’t say Robert shot
Jeremy. If he didn’t shoot him, who did? Why aren’t there any arrests for
that shooting? Is that under investigation. Were these people supposed to be
inside the house? If Jeremy was shot and trying to fight off a huge 31 year
old, wouldn’t you consider shots fired back self defense? Sounds like more
shoddy police work from the ever unreliable SVPD.

Having had several meetings with at least eight Sierra Vista police officers
in the last year and a half, it is my opinion that there is absolutely
nothing shoddy nor unreliable about our police officers. I wish
4rfoundingfathers would reconsider those negative remarks. A police officer
is an educated person who has been trained to keep the peace. These officers
are not mystical workers who dub you guilty or innocent on the spot unless
there are circumstances that confirm your guilt. The guilty are at the mercy
of the courts (a jury, maybe) to determine. Not to worry, 4rfoundingfathers,
if it was self-defense, the jury and the judge will decide. And, not to
worry, if a guilty party is to be arrested, they will be arrested. Our much
needed Sierra Vista police officers do not determine who is telling the truth
or lieing when they are very busy keeping the peace at that moment. I think
an apology to SVPD is in order.
