This week at the farmers' markets
Wed, 10/13/2010 - 12:57am
A summer squash that got away was exhibited recently at the Sierra Vista Farmers Market by vendor Carol Berty. This Asian variety of white fleshed squash is mildly sweet flavored when picked young up to a foot long and added to soups and stir fries. However, Carol reports that her chickens really enjoyed this harder skinned mammoth specimen.
