In June, Cochise County’s accommodation industry saw a slight gain in sales over June last year, while retail and restaurant and bar sales dropped. Countywide accommodation sales, which include hotel, motel, and other temporary lodging stays of less than 30 days, were up 0.4 percent in June, following a 13.6 percent increase in May. June was the fifth consecutive month of growth. For the first six months of 2010, sales were up 5.5 percent after adjusting for inflation.
