Tree-ripened apricots heralded the start of the local fruit season at last Thursday’s Sierra Vista Farmers Market. Regular market shopper Karen Blumenthal (left) of Sierra Vista selects apricots raised organically in Benson by backyard grower Connie Moore at the Back Yard Growers tables in the center of the market. There will be more apricots this week and the beginning of the blackberries and peaches.
