Show some respect for officials, one another

To the Editor:

The lack of decency in this country is troubling to me. Since when is it all right for a media personality, Glenn Beck, to call a U.S. senator, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, a prostitute/hooker on his radio and/or TV show for voting her support on the health care bill? Not one person from the conservative base has stood up and said, “That’s not right.”

Ms. Landrieu agreed to vote for the bill only after a 300 million dollar aid
package was inserted specifically for her state. What would you call her?
Sometimes a spade is a spade.

Terry, you say: “Isn’t it time we showed some respect to our elected
officials…” Are you kidding? Respect has to be earned and most have earned
contempt by the people thus far. I think we should deal with America
rationally and not just ideologically. It seems since Obama has been elected,
war has been waged against the American People and their constitution. Is it
not true that President Obama’s bent is radical socialism. Is it not true
that most in his cabinet and czars are communist, socialists,
anti-capitalist, homosexuals, pro-death, anti-American. and the likes. Is
that the kind of crew you want to reinvigorate our free enterprise system? Is
that the kind of people you want to enhance our constitutional government? Is
the power still with the people or has our power been hijacked by our so
called elite in the government?

I wonder, was Beck’s latest the last straw and you felt compelled to write,
or are you just singling out conservatives for your rant? No mention of the
Florida Congressman calling republicans liars and saying they want Americans
to die. It would appear your frustration is partisan.
