Bisbee hires football coachSierra Vista Herald / July 15, 1998


BISBEE - Karl Uterhardt, an assistant coach to Jim Yencarelli last seasonand head junior varsity coach at Bisbee High School, was named headfootball coach at Bisbee High School Tuesday.
Uterhardt, a special education teacher at Lowell Middle School in Bisbee,coached the seventh and eighth grade football teams at Lowell for two yearsbefore switching to Bisbee High School.

Uterhardt has been holding work-outs with his prospective players sinceJune 1 and will continue to do so today and Thursday and again on Monday,Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
“I am real happy in getting the job,” Uterhardt said. “We have about 22players who come quite regularly to our weight-lifting and skill sessions,which will continue for another week.”Uterhardt encourages anyone who wants to play football for Bisbee HighSchool this season to contact him at 432-5716 or attend one of the sessionswhich runs from 4-6:45 p.m. on the days listed above.
“In some areas I plan on making some drastic changes,” Uterhardt said.
“Then again, in other areas we will keep what Jim (Yencarelli) has beenteaching the past few years.”Official practice (two-a-days) starts Aug. 10.
