Avoiding diabetes to be focus of class

Send to friendDr. John and Melinda Haun will present a free class on diabetes from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the Serenity Room of the Family Life Center at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church. The class is intended to help those with diabetes and to let others know what they can do to prevent it. The church is at Buffalo Soldier Trail and St. Andrews Drive.

Being a diabetic for many years during my 84 years on this mud ball called
earth, I know that it is a serious disease. I have to monitor my blood daily,
watch my diet carefully and get lots of good exercise. I have seen too many
lose fingers, toes, arms and legs. I speak from experience.
