Canine comfort: Dog therapy program aids in classroom learning, behavior

SIERRA VISTA — Dogs have long been man’s best friend and have had many jobs from finding people in the snow, sniffing out drugs and bombs and comforting the elderly. Dogs also are used in therapy for children, and Bella Vista Elementary and Town and Country Elementary schools are using these therapies to help students gain social skills, teach patience and work on anger management issues.
