 TUCSON — Much like a heavyweight fighter trying to protect a big lead in points while continually sticking his chin out for pummeling, the Buena defense survived Friday night at Sahuaro, wobbly legs and all.

In utterly dominating fashion, Buena built a 42-10 halftime lead only to see it nearly vanish entirely. Only a timely interception and 93-yard touchdown return with three minutes to play kept Sahuaro from making it a one-possession game with plenty of time to get the ball back.
