Woman arrested for alledged murder of husband
BISBEE — A Bisbee woman is facing second degree murder charges after allegedly killing her husband during a possible domestic violence situation.
According to Sgt. Taron Maddux, public information officer for the Bisbee Police Department, a 911 call came in at 11:33 p.m. on Tuesday from Cristi Sue Luna, 52, who reported that her husband 70-year-old Daniel Patrick McNary had a cord around his neck and was not breathing.
“Police and fire rescue personnel responded to the call on O’Hara Avenue in Old Bisbee and upon arrival officers made contact with the female caller,” he stated. “McNary was transported to the Copper Queen Community Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.”
A search warrant was executed by officers at the residence. Due to the information obtained on scene, as well as information provided by Luna, officers believed that a domestic violence situation had occurred between the married couple, continued Maddux.
Luna was arrested and booked into Cochise County Detention for Second Degree Murder, a class two felony, he said.
An autopsy was to be performed Wednesday morning on McNary by the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office in Tucson to determine the exact cause of death, but no further details were available to him.
