PTSD - MILITARY RELATED SUPPORT GROUP FOR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS OF VETERANS AND ACTIVE DUTY!




Purpose: AVVA Chapter 1020 in Cochise County, AZ has established a Peer 2
Peer PTSD Support Group for Significant Others, Friends, Family Members, any
person directly connected to a Veteran or Active Duty Personnel that is
effected by Military Caused PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). When: 1st
Meeting October 30th at 2:00 PM (will determine length of montly meeting at
our first one) Where: Sierra Vista Library - Mona Bishop Room next to the
Coffee Bar Child Care: Child care will be provided in consideration of our
Families with small Children, a Volunteer will do story time and activities
during the meeting in a separate area. Due to the sensitive nature of
PTSD/Secondary and in consideration of participants, children under the age
of 18 will not be participating in this group. We will meet each month, the
schedule will be posted please mark your calendar when you get it. If you
have a loved one that suffers from Military related PTSD you will surely
benefit by this support group - others that come will benefit by your
presence. This is a peer to peer forum, please take from this meeting what
you need and leave the rest, Confidentiallity is strictly adhered to. With
the Holidays approaching everyone is so busy, but remember this is the time
of year that many Veterans and Active Duty suffer the greatest with PTSD, in
turn so do we. Please plan to make an hours time or so in November & December
to attend this group, we all need each other!
