The Cochise County Youth Orchestra will present its Winter Concert, featuring a wide variety of music. The performance will be held on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. at Kino Hall, located next to St. Andrew’s Church, 800 Taylor Drive. Admission is free. Bisbee’s Central School Project will have a holiday art bazaar Friday through Sunday. The event will run from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Yuletide Market Holiday Bazaar will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Ethel Berger Center and Oscar Yrun Community Center. Call 417-6980.
There will be a Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar Open House at the Geronimo Gallery at the MWR Arts Center on Fort Huachuca on Friday from noon to 2 p.m. There will be two rooms filled with handcrafted items, cards, jewelry, photographs, pottery, magnets and paintings offered by seven artists from the Huachuca Art Association. In the main gallery, artists Charles Marlowe and Wayne Lavinder will have a showing of their works during December. The MWR Center is located on Hatfield and Arizona streets, across from the commissary, Building 52008, and is open Tuesday through Saturday.
The Green Valley Arts & Crafts Fair will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair is held at the West Social Center, located at 1111 Via Arcos Iris. Tombstone Community Congregational Church Women’s Fellowship will have a Christmas bazaar and bake sale on Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Second and Allen streets. Handcrafted gifts will be available, plus there will be a raffle for a beautiful hand-sewn Victorian-style quilt and other items. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 and lunch at 11.
Bisbee kids can have their photo taken with Santa on Saturday at Turquoise Valley Golf Club at “Let’s Make it a Special Christmas.” Designed to give people a place to shop locally and a place for local merchants, artists and non-profits to showcase their wares, the event will include shopping, entertainment, food and workshops including making decorations, holiday cooking, safety during the holidays, and a class on armchair yoga to help eliminate stress during the season. The Fort Huachuca Community Spouses’ Club annual Tour of Homes is slated for Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m. The cost is $10 in advance and $12 on the day of the tour. The tour begins at the Fort Huachuca Museum. Purchase tickets at the museum, at Safeway, or contact Pam Sherod at sherod@cox.net.

The Art Benko and Bisbee World War II Memorial steering committee and Bisbee High School class of 1941 will host a dedication ceremony of the new monument at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lavender Pit view point. The memorial serves as a testament to the ultimate sacrifice of Bisbee’s military personnel who were killed while serving their country during World War II.

A “Survival Strategies for the Holidays” presentation will be held on Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Wellness Depot in the mall. Join a dietitian to learn ways not to over-eat during the holidays, relive stress and have fun.
Cochise College’s Lunch Lecture Series will present “Sky Island Alliance: Conservation Across Political Boundaries” on Wednesday, from 12:10 to 1 p.m., in Room 313. The Sky Island region that surrounds Sierra Vista is comprised of some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Learn what makes this region so unique and the various conservation programs, from jaguar conservation to landscape restoration. Call 417-6960.
The Wellness Depot will be offering flu shots on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or while vaccine supplies last. There will be a $26 fee per flu shot and the hospital will bill for people who are insured by Medicare. Please bring your Medicare card and a picture ID.

Ben Lomeli, a hydrologist and natural resources scientist, will present “What Happened to the Water?” at the meeting of the Friends of Sonoita Creek in Cady Hall in the Patagonia Library at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Lomeli specializes in water rights, riparian ecosystems, flood control, riverine morphology, grazing systems, erosion control, site and water development, groundwater and international issues.
The Sierra Vista Elks Lodge #2065 will celebrate its annual Elks Memorial Day at 2 p.m. Sunday at the lodge.
