SIERRA VISTA — Two men were assaulted with a baseball bat outside of a restaurant early Thursday morning.
At 2:25 a.m., police received a call of an assault at Denny’s, 2397 E. Fry Blvd.
An unknown man attacked another man with a baseball bat as he was leaving the restaurant, said Tracy Grady, public information officer for the Sierra Vista Police Department.
“He was attacked as he walked out the door,” Grady said. “He was struck three times. Once in the back of his head, causing a large laceration. He was also hit in his left forearm and right arm.”

As the man was being attacked, a friend tried to come to his aid.
“He was struck in the back, causing a contusion,” she said.
The suspect is described as a white man, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build and clean shaven.
He fled the area in a gray Buick LeSabre driven by a man described by police as being Hispanic and 5 feet 10 inches tall with slender build who was clean shaven and wearing a gray hoodie sweat shirt.
The vehicle left by heading north on Moorman Avenue.
The attacker used a red baseball bat in the assault, Grady said.
Both men who were assaulted refused medical treatment by the Sierra Vista Fire Department and sought further treatment on their own, according to police.
