Marion Simpson, 82, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died of lung cancer on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, in Sierra Vista. Marion was born in St. Louis, Mo., on April 24, 1926, to the late Henry and Katherine Wiegel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Simpson in 1989.

Marion is survived by four children, Bob Simpson of Lake Villa, Ill., Jim Simpson and Don Simpson of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Gayle Simpson of Sierra Vista; a sister, Dorothy Altergott of Redding, Calif.; four grandchildren, one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.


Marion loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, reading mysteries, playing Scrabble and, above all, her family. She will be missed by all.

A private family service and interment were held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Cochise Memory Gardens in Sierra Vista.
