TUCSON — The 2008 race season came to an end Saturday at United Sports Arizona Raceway for the Factory Stocks, Super Stocks and Hornets.

“Hillbilly” Bob Burchett led the Factory Stock points, Terry Hill led the Super Stocks, Tony Pugliese is the Front Wheel Drive Hornet champion, and Jason Miller took the championship for the Rear Wheel Drive Hornets. The main events saw caution after caution as drivers drove their hardest to perhaps earn that last point that would move them up a spot in the standings.

The main event winners for the night were: Brian Bauman in the Front Wheel Drive Hornet division; Jason Rominger in the Rear Wheel Drive Hornets; Bucky Andrews in the Factory Stock race; and Stu Moffett in the Super Stocks.

Cochise County racers Daniel Stricker of Sunsites and Steve Truso of St. David were included in those who finished the Super Stock main event. Stricker finished eighth in the main after winning his heat race earlier in the night; and Steve Truso, who appeared to be battling handling problems, finished 13th.

Racing resumes Nov. 29 and 30.

" I'll admidt ignornace if I have too, but what sport/race is this article covering? I see team names, team members names, placement results...but not the sport name or what the sport even is.
