Cochise men run out to 2-0 start

DOUGLAS — The Cochise College men’s basketball team is out to a quick start this season, beating the Fort Huachuca Scouts 124-65 on Friday and the Tucson Stars on Saturday 138-92.

Against the Cats, the Apaches were led by DeAngelo Jones with 25 points and Marcus Williams with 23. Brandon MacLellan, a freshman from Buena, finished with 12.

Williams led Cochise with 22 points in Friday’s blowout win, Jones added 20 and Mike Mayo had 18 with four three-pointers.

This weekend, the Apaches travel to Midland Texas for three games starting Thursday against the Wayland Baptist University junior varsity.



The Cochise College women, back from a 1-2 weekend in Hobbs, N.M., play at home Friday at 5:30 p.m. against the Tucson Sol.
