Elizabeth A. ‘Betty’ Price

Loving and devoted to her husband, family and friends, Betty went the distance through complications of cancer and lupus to receive a champion’s prize in eternity’s peace.

Providence R.I., Virginia Beach, Va., and Sierra Vista, Ariz., area were all called home. She was a primary organizer and first tournament director for the local area American Dart Organization in 1990.

With the onset of lupus, Betty withdrew as the Arizona state champion in 1994. Diagnosed with cancer in 2004, she became a three-year survivor.


A bookkeeper for RV City 19 years, she became their local sponsorship spokesperson for the Cancer Foundation Relay for Life. Betty was a true champion for science and medicine, also wanting to make a difference in the next one with lupus. She is survived by Roger, her husband of 24 years; the families of daughter Jennifer Hagood of Virginia Beach; sons Justin M. Cole of Anaheim, Calif., Jeffery A. Cole of Couer d’ Alene, Idaho, Richard E. Cole of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Norman (Lee) Cole of Sacramento, Calif.; brothers Michael C. Hammond of Merrimack, N.H., Jonathan Nault of Virginia Beach, Marcel and Gilles Nault of New Hampshire; sisters Patricia “Tric” Ortiz of Tucson, Ariz., and Gisele Dussault of Montreal, Canada; an uncle; three aunts; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a nephew; five nieces; and vital families of Becky Roberts of Hereford, Ariz., Carol Teske of Hawaii, Jill Gargon of Tennessee and Bill Blair of California.

She was preceded in death by mother, Irene Nault, in 2005.

There will be a Respect for this Champion Memorial Service on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S. Highway 92, Sierra Vista AZ 85635.

Interment will follow at Cochise Memory Garden, 5590 Charleston Road, Sierra Vista.

    " Words cannot say what is in my heart for our loss of Betty. Just finding out today is a shock, but knowing Betty from early childhood she was a fighter from the getgo. She was funny, kind, loving and giving and a trooper. I am thankful in many ways to have the privledge of growing up with her and send love to her family from the bottom of my heart.
