James ‘Mike’ Long

James “Mike” Long passed away on Sept. 5, 2008, at Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 51 years old.

Mike was born in Fort Monmouth, N.J., and lived in Cambridge, Ohio. He later moved to Bangkok, Thailand, with his family and then on to Sierra Vista. He was a graduate of Buena High School and a long-time resident of the area.

Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy.


He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Long, and his brother, Lek Patsonant.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Terri; his son, Jeremy; his daughters, Michelle and Shannon, all of Hereford; his parents, Jim and Rosemary Long of Fallon, Nev.; his sister, Janet Dotson (Long) of Gold Hill, Ore.; two grandsons and a granddaughter.

Mike’s love and humor will be greatly missed. He was loved by his family so much.

Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Buffalo Soldier Trail.
