BISBEE — The Cochise County Militia, a local border watch group, recently announced it has canceled an upcoming event scheduled for October.
The organization, now based in Tombstone, holds regular events for people who want to monitor the U.S.-Mexico border area for illegal activity and report it to the U.S. Border Patrol.
An event planned for October was canceled due to a lack of donations to finance the event, as well as limited time to make preparations after some computer-related problems, according to Bill Davis, founder of the group.
“People are still welcome to come and work the area on their own. I’ll be glad to assist in any way,” Davis said.
