Lou, a nine-year Sierra Vista, Ariz., resident, passed away quietly in her sleep.
Lou was well known at Pueblo del Sol Country Club as an avid daily golfer with her husband, Jim.

Lou was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but spent her early life in Baltimore, Md. Lou was the third of four children, all of whom predeceased her. After World War II, she and Jim relocated to Cleveland. There, she and her sister, Marian, owned and operated “Mar-Lou Florist.” She also had a career as a professional leather carver and conducted carving classes. Lou was a superb seamstress and excelled at knitting, crocheting, and many other arts and crafts.
In 1970, Lou joined the Cuyahoga County Public Library system, Bay Village, Ohio, branch, where she rose to the rank of administrative assistant. She was responsible for the smooth operation of the entire Bay Village library until her retirement in 1986.
On July 11, Lou and Jim celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Lou is survived by her loving husband, Jim; daughter, Dot Greener of Sierra Vista; grandson, Randall S. Limbach of Ventura, Calif.; granddaughter, Catherine L. Danszczak of Medina, Ohio; and five great grandchildren.
All those who knew Lou were well aware of her love for animals, particularly the much-loved and well-fed ducks at Pueblo del Sol, holes two and four. She owned and loved dogs, especially Schnauzers, her entire life.
In lieu of flowers, Lou’s family kindly requests donations be sent directly to the Sierra Vista Animal Shelter, 6799 Highway 90, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.
A short Catholic service will be held at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at 10 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen’s Sierra Vista Mortuary.
