Where the government has failed its citizens

To the Editor:

Our government has failed us. The House of Representatives was given the power in our Constitution to investigate and take action (impeach) when governmental crimes are brought to its attention. Dennis Kucinich is one of the few to show courage by introducing still another article of impeachment, this time for the greatest crime of all, intentionally lying our country into attacking Iraq.

Why should Congress address this action when we are so close to an election that will bring a new administration to Washington? We must take action now because our Constitution continues to be eroded daily. Already gone are many of the rights guaranteed to us by the First Amendment, the Fourth Amendment and the writ of Habeas Corpus. Our leaders profess to be bringing freedom and democracy to other nations when our own democracy has become a joke. Congress refuses to act as the clock runs out, but congressional “business as usual” continues to destroy the values upon which this nation was founded.

Taxes will be raised as both Hillary and Obama have stated that they would repeal tax cuts that Bush made with congressional support. Obama has all ready stated he would raise troop levels oversea's. Vote for nobama if you like, but dont cry when you lose more of your freedoms, rights and monies. "

They must convince 9 Republicans to join with them to get bills passed. When they do get 9 and the bill goes to a president, he vetos it.
