“Nana” will be missed by her eight grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Cynthia, Pauline, Jeffrey, Robert, Megan and Dana; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Kylie, Brooke and Darwin Anna; and special family friends Murphy and Sharon Tsai.
The family made their home in Maine, Wisconsin, Alaska and Virginia before settling in Sierra Vista in 1967.
Pauline liked to travel and had the opportunity to do so as she accompanied her husband on many TOY trips while he was employed at Fort Huachuca. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting many an afghan. Who would have known she would become a NASCAR fan and loved to cheer on “her” #24 Jeff Gordon. Pauline was a wonderful cook and family and friends felt lucky to be recipients of many a great meal set at her table. We’ll especially remember Eggs Benedict and Swedish Tea Ring on Christmas, authentic New England baked beans and a brownie recipe that we all love to make for our own families.
The family wishes to thank Dr. David Knapp and Dr. Janet Nettleton; Hospice, Casa de la Paz and Comfort Keepers, especially Gisela Brennan. A special thank you to Dr. Anthony Nazaroff for the genuine concern and compassion he showed to Pauline and her family over the past five years.
Pauline’s gentleness, warmth and smile will be remembered by all whose lives she touched in many special ways. We love you Mom and will miss you more than words can say!
Pauline will be laid to rest beside her husband, Payson at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 27. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Pauline’s name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice, Casa de la Paz.
Hatfield Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
