Jan. 25, 1932 - June 6, 2008

Gloria Joan (Vian) Griffo, 76, went to her glorious heavenly home hand in hand with her Savior on Friday, June 6, 2008.

Gloria was born in Decatur, Ind., on Jan. 25, 1932, to Glen and Nellie Johnson Vian. Gloria enjoyed the simple things in life — her home, her dogs, her friends and most of all being with her family. She was our cornerstone, inspiring all of us to appreciate the importance of family and instilling in her children and grandchildren a love for art, music and poetry.

Gloria was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife, aunt and friend. Always with a beautiful smile, she displayed her care, warmth and love to everyone around her. Her love, generosity, kindness and uniquely keen sense of humor will be greatly missed by all of us. We feel as the best of the best has left us.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Toni Lopez (Rene); son, Michael Griffo (Rosalynn); daughter, Joy Thomas (Scott); brother, Lloyd “Johnny” Vian; special niece, Barbara Pancake; grandchildren, Tonya Devine, David Lopez, Matthew Lopez, Scott Thomas Jr., Preston Thomas, Christine Thomas, Elizabeth Davie, Joshua Davie, Anthony Griffo and Rachel Griffo; great-grandchildren Jacob Devine, Eathan Devine, Aaron Devine, Tristan Scott, Trinity Thomas, Trenton Thomas, Tyson Urkov-Lopez and Joshua Davie Jr.; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony; father, Glen; mother, Nellie; sister, Wanda; sister, Katie; and brother, Gerald “Bud” Vian.

A celebration of her life service will held at First Baptist Church Sierra Vista at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008. Following the service will be a committal service at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery for Gloria and her beloved husband Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the IRSF (RETT Syndrome Foundation) or the First Baptist Church Sierra Vista building fund.

" Thank you for the kind words Amanda. On another note, we omitted the address for the church where services will be held. It is 1447 S. 7th. St., on the corner of 7th and Golf Links. "
