Ellen Marie Del Grosso of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 8, 2008. Ellie was born in Hibernia, N.J., to the late Michael and Mary Kelly. She was raised there and in Rockaway, N.J. She graduated from Rockaway High School.

On July 24, 1954, she married the love of her life, John Robert Del Grosso, in Denville, N.J. She and Jack have been residents of Sierra Vista for 32 years. Ellen was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was loved dearly and will be missed by all. Her family and home were the greatest joys of her life.

She enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble and working crossword puzzles. Ellen was anavid fan of “General Hospital,” and loved watching western movies and situation comedies. Music, dancing and singing were an important part of her life. She especially loved to hear her husband play piano and her sons sing and play their guitars. Ellie filled our lives with love and made everyone feel special because she was special.

 She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John “Jack” Del Grosso; her children, John Robert Del Grosso Jr., Patricia Ann Terminello, Michael Anthony Del Grosso and David Alan Del Grosso. She was the proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Aaron J. Del Grosso, Jessica M. Del Grosso, Michael Anthony Del Grosso Jr., Amanda Del Grosso, Denise E. Terminello, Chelsea R Del Grosso and Anthony D. Terminello; and two great-grandchildren, Chance A. and Jaida R. Green.  Other survivors include her brothers Tom and Bill Kelly as well as sisters Rita Ferrone and Mary Jane Heller.

Ellie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edward, John, and Larry Kelly; and sisters, Anna and Marge Dachisen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Hatfield Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services to be held the following day, May 13, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. It was her wish to be cremated following the service, and her cremains placed in the columbarium at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A committal service will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the cemetery.
