Richard “Dick” Hoffman, 80, a 16-year resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at the Sierra Vista Regional Health Care Center.

He was born May 2, 1927, in Monticello, Ind., to Robert and Beulah Hoffman.

Dick was raised and attended school in northern Indiana. Upon graduation from high school he joined the Navy and served his country during World War II in the Pacific. In 1952 he married Shirley Davis of Elkhart, Ind.

Dick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; sons, Terence Lee Hoffman (Sharla) of Littleton, Colo., Brian Richard Hoffman (Amy) of Wichita, Kan., and Geoffrey Quintin Hoffman (Robin) of Elkhart, Ind.; daughters Jacqueline Rene Miller (Roger) of Goshen, Ind., and Stephanie Diane Owens of Auburn, Ind.; and grandchildren Ryan Rigby, Derek Hoffman, Roberta Miller, Angela Coleman (Randy), Adam Miller, Brandon Hoffman, Evan Hoffman, Rachel Owens, Benjamin Owens, Hannah Hoffman and Samuel Hoffman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Hatfield Funeral Home.

A time of visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Chuck Carlson will officiate. Interment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Goshen, Ind., on Saturday, April 26, 2008.

Arrangements are by the Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista, and Rieth, Rohrer & Ehret Funeral Home of Goshen, Ind.
