One dead, one hospitalized after automobile crash

Published/Last Modified on Friday, Apr 11, 2008 - 05:21:09 am MST

SIERRA VISTA — One man is dead, and another was transported by air to University Medical Center in Tucson after a Wednesday night accident north of the unincorporated Double Adobe community.

Salvador Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene after the Nissan Frontier he was driving was struck by a Chevy Silverado driven by George Adcock, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carol Capas said.

Deputies responded to the crash at about 9 p.m., after the Silverado northbound on Frontier Road failed to stop at the intersection of Davis Road, and collided with the Nissan that was eastbound on Davis, Capas said.

Adcock’s condition at UMC was not available from the hospital’s media relations office as of press time Thursday.

Whatever happened to the young lady that blew the stop sign on Ramsey Road & Moson and ended up killing Reb Farmer? Was she ever brought to justice? The old Courthouse in Tombstone still has a gallows!! "

It is for them to help them in the process of having to deal with the sudden loss of a wonderful man. A man who loved his family and friends. A man who knew how to show love and to let the ones around him know they were special to him. Sal will be missed by so many. Taken too soon and missing out on so much. " Salvador was my grand daughter's father in law. He was a good, kind man. His son Erick was called home from his second tour in Iraq to be here for his father's funeral. As a paramedic Erick has witnessed horrible things and to come home to this and his devastated family is incomprehensible. My sincere sympathy to them all.

" This accident has destroyed our Family, Salvador Garcia is my Father-Law, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Because of one person's carelessness he has devastated our family. Salvador will be missed so dearly, he will never see his third grandchild that I'm carrying nor will my baby get to know what a great person he was. He will never get to see his oldest son get married which was only a week away. There are so many things this driver took away from us that we can never get back. We will all truly miss him! "

" I came close to death last night coming home from work. People are in such a hurry to go where? The man nearly ran into my rear because I wasn't going 20 miles over the speed limit past Ramsey Road. Oh, and on the same day, a Motorcyclist (in military uniform I might add) weaved in and out of traffic, barely cutting me off. Remember, there has been two motorcycle fatalities in the past two weeks, do you want to make it three? Please be responisible, stop riding my rear! "

Why did you feel the need to bring the SVPD into your comment? This accident happened at the intersection of Frontier and Davis Roads. Check a map. SVPD does a great job. "

" This was a horrific accident. While visibility between the two roads involved I don’t think much can be done to change that.

The truck that was hit was literally disassembled.

The truck was taken to the Sheriff’s Office compound in Bisbee. I think that anyone who is in a driving program or receives a ticket for speeding or DUI should be required to see this truck first hand.

It needs to be put on display in a very public place with a sign indicating the cause of the accident.

Knowing cochise county and sv police he probly got a warning ticket. "

" Is Double Adobe more local then Benson. This accident made the Heralds front page, but not one word about an accident near Benson where one illegal was killed, and about 30 injured when a smugglers van went off the road. The hospital ER's were swamped with the injured. I guess the Heralds upper management doesn't want us to know about the illegals actions. "
