Kenley (Ken) E. Jones, 50, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008. In 1992, he moved to Sierra Vista, Ariz., from Tucson, Ariz., to teach business classes at Cochise College. He established the Center for Economic Research in 1995.

He received a bachelor of arts degree from The Franciscan University, a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Arizona, and passed exams for a Ph.D. degree in higher education finance from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He received an award from the Economic Development Foundation in 2001.

He was presented with an Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Arizona Eller School of Business in 2002. In recognition of his services to the community, he received the Sierra Vista Mayor’s Award in 2004. Over the years he was given many awards and honors too numerous to list.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Janeen Jones of Sierra Vista; a sister, Sandra McGlocklin, a nephew, Ryan McGlocklin, and a niece, Allison McGlocklin, all of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jensen’s Sierra Vista Mortuary.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kenley Jones Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made out to the Cochise College Foundation indicating it is for the “Kenley Jones Scholarship Fund.” Mail to the Cochise College Foundation, 4190 W. Highway 80, Doulgas AZ 85607.
