CMS Dewey Allyn Coerper Sr.

Dewey Allyn Coerper, of Palominas, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, after a short battle with cancer.

Dewey was born in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., on Sept. 22, 1929, to Paul and Gladys Coerper.

Dewey was employed by Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee, Wis., for 35 years as a graphic arts and desktop publishing instructor.


He was a proud member of the 440th Air Force Reserve Unit in Milwaukee for 25 years as a civil engineer  and the American Legion Post in South Milwaukee, Wis.

After retiring to Arizona in 1999, some of the things Dewey enjoyed was the Mountain View Computer Users Club, building, his equine, cats, and hockey.

Dewey is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (nee Lisowski); sons, Dewey Jr. (Jeanne), and Mace (Colleen).

He was the proud grandfather to Dewey III, Mathew, Michael, and Alexander, and had one great-grandson, Dewey IV.

Other survivors include his sister, Janet Hunter (Loren); brothers, Harley, Wallace (Bonnie), Gilbert (LouAnn), and Kenneth (Cheryl); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, friends and neighbors.

Dewey is preceded in death by his sons, Kurt and Elliott; brother, Myron; and sister, Joice.

Those who would like to pay their respects can do so at the ranch on Monday, Feb. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. If friends wish, they may make a memorial contribution in his honor to the American Cancer Society.

    " I was a student of Mr. Coerper's in the late '70's. He was a good teacher and a good man. I know his family will miss him. "
