Roland S. Jackson, 77, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007. He was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His parents were Henry Leon Jackson and Ina Vivian George Jackson.

Roland married Helen Johnson on Sept. 9, 1955, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were always active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as bishop. They also were temple workers. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife Helen of Sierra Vista; sons, Mark (Barbara) of Orem Utah, Karl (Susan) of Orem, Utah, David (Honey) of Tooele, Utah; daughters, Shaneen (Ralph) Cloward of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sheila (Andrew) Wood of Orem, Utah, Sharri (Antonio) Elizondo of Phoenix, Ariz., Michelle (Brent) Tubbs of Wellsville, Utah; brother, Leon Jackson of Garland, Texas; sister, Leona (Richard) Andrus of Kearns, Utah; 20 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at the LDS Stake Center (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building on Yaqui). Bishop Ron Curtis will officiate. Viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral in the same building. Interment will be in Redwood Memorial Estates in Utah on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007.
