• Smart Teen Eating Club (STEP) is a program offered to overweight 12-18 year olds in Cochise County. With the help of a registered dietitian, teens will learn about healthy lifestyle choices that focus on nutrition and physical activity. • The Bisbee Farmers Market is held Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vista Park in Warren. Featured are a variety of vendors, fresh produce, plants, a children’s corner, music, ranch eggs and a fun time with different attractions weekly.
• There will be a tour of historic Buffalo Soldier sites on Fort Huachuca every third Saturday of the month for the remainder of the year. The tours will be led by members of the Southwest Association of Buffalo Soldiers in celebration of the post’s designation of 2007 as “The Year of the Buffalo Soldier.”
• The Sierra Vista Environmental Operations Park is open for bird walks each Sunday morning. The walks take about two hours and are led by docents. Walks depart from the viewing platform inside the park. Contact the observatory, 432-1388, for information and times.
• The Attorney General’s Office is seeking volunteers for the Sierra Vista satellite office. The satellite office is open from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday and Thursday of the month. It is located at the Sierra Vista Public Library. Satellite offices provide convenient locations for residents to access information on consumer fraud, civil rights, victims rights, and other topics affecting the most vulnerable members of the community. Volunteers make educational presentations for community groups, distribute educational materials at community events and assist individuals filing complaints or referrals for assistance.
