Virginia Creamer Holman, longtime resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in her home in Tucson, Ariz. She was born on Aug. 3, 1932, in Eastland, Texas, to J.C. Creamer and Willie Mae Creamer.
Virginia grew up in East Texas. She graduated from Temple Junior College in 1952. While working for El Paso Natural Gas Company in El Paso, Texas, she met and married Capt. Jonathan Lane Holman Jr. As a military wife Virginia traveled all over the world including tours in Germany, England, France and various bases in the U.S.

Virginia loved her home in Sierra Vista. For 12 years she worked at the Sierra Vista Public Library. She enjoyed her job and the friends she made while working there. After retiring from the library she was involved in several organizations interested in preserving the natural beauty and resources of Southern Arizona. Lane and Virginia moved to Tucson in 2000 for health considerations.
Virginia’s husband passed away in 2002. Virginia remained in Tucson. She became an avid fan of the U of A basketball team and enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Berry of Benson, Ariz., Linda Holman Bentley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lisa Holman, of Washington, D.C.; and her brother, Jack Creamer of Deming, N.M.
A memorial service will be held at the Sierra Vista Public Library on Friday, Aug. 3 at 4 p.m. In memory of Virginia donations can be made to The Nature Conservancy.
