Theodore M. (Ted) Anderson, 76, died on June 29, 2007, at East Alabama Medical Center after open heart surgery.

A native of Bisbee, Ariz., Ted graduated from Bisbee High School in 1949 and from the University of Arizona in 1953. He entered the U.S. Air Force as an ROTC lieutenant and retired in 1975 as lieutenant colonel. While in the Air Force, he saw duty in England, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, North Africa, Vietnam, Arizona, Colorado and the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., prior to retiring to Tucson, Ariz.

While in Oklahoma, Ted met his wife, Patricia, when they were both stationed at Altas Air Force Base. Pat was a career nurse in the Air Force. They were married on Oct. 18, 1959, in Bisbee by Ted’s uncle, Judge Frank E. Thomas, in the same home where they resided from 1991 until they moved to Auburn, Ala., in 2000.

Ted was a 53-year member of the Bisbee Masonic Lodge No. 12, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, life member of the University of Arizona Alumni Association, member of the Military Officer’s Association of America, life member of Disabled American Veterans, and a past president of the Bisbee Golf Association of the Turquoise Golf Course and the Tucson Exchange Club.

Ted is survived by his wife, Patricia; his sister, Melba Jacobsen of Victor, Mont.; two cousins; nine nephews; two nieces; eight great-nephews; 10 great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Spurgeon M. Anderson, who passed away in 1950; and his mother, Evelyn Anderson Muheim, who passed away in 2004.

At his request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, Lee Co. Unit, P.O. Box 94098, Birmingham AL 35220, or to the Calebee Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, c/o Mrs. Betty Segrest, 463 Riverside Drive, Tallassee AL 36078.

Arrangements are being handled by Alabama Cremation Centers in Dadeville, Ala.
