Bottom of the eighth - Buena went out in order in the bottom of the eighth to end the game.
Top of the eighth - The Knights broke through with two runs in the inning, but it could have been much worse. With one out, one runner scored, but Melissa Hardy picked up the ball hit to center. She fired it home getting the runner there. The Colt catcher alertly noticed the Knights runner rounding third and the throw to Lisa Stensby was in time for the tag to record the third out.
Bottom of the seventh - Colt batters remained quiet with Jordan Trujillo and Jenna Wright striking out and Courtney Dennis ending the inning with a pop up to second.

Top of the seventh - St. Mary's goes down in order with a fly out to third, ground out to first and fly out to center. Sports Editor Matt Hickman reports a big crowd is watching the thrilling action.
Bottom of the sixth - Knights pitcher Dallas Escobedo mows down the Colts one-two-three. Buena's Shannel Blackshear popped out with Alicia Banks and Alexa Straton striking out.
Top of the sixth - The inning started with a lead off single. But Colts hurler Meghan McIntosh got the next batter to foul out, the second batter struck out. Then the Colt catcher rifled a throw to Shannel Blackshear who tagged out the Knights runner who was caught trying to steal second.
Bottom of fifth - Buena squandered a golden opportunity to score when Courtney Dennis tripled off the right fielder's glove with the ball hitting the yellow tape at the top of the fence to start the inning. Brianna Jacoby was sent in as a pinch runner. After Amanda Wilson struck out. Melissa Hardy tried a squeeze bunt. The strategy backfired when Jacoby got tagged out while trying to slide back to third. Hardy advanced to second on the play, but Lisa Stensby struck out on a full count to end the threat.
Top of the fifth - The first St. Mary's batter struck out. That was followed by two great throws by Colts shortstop Shannel Blackshear as she gunned down Knights batters as they raced toward first base.
Bottom of the fourth - Buena got one hit with two outs when Jordan Trujillo hit a screamer over the first baseman's glove. She was stranded at first when the next batter struck out swinging on a 3-2 count.
Top of fourth inning - Knights put two runners on with two outs, but Colts pitcher Meghan McIntosh got the next batter to strikeout.
Bottom of third - Colts batter Lisa Stensby walked after two strikeouts and Knight's pitcher Dallas Escobedo struck out the next Colt batter to end the inning.
Top third inning - St. Mary's had a one out single to center, but the baserunner was stranded at first as the rest of the side was retired by Meghan McIntosh.
Bottom of second - Colts batter Alexa Straton walked and was bunted to second by Jordan Trujillo. But Knights pitcher Dallas Escobedo struck out Jenna Wright and Courtney Dennis to end the inning.
Top of second inning - St. Mary's went down in order on two groundouts sandwiched between a strikeout.
First inning - St. Mary's had a one out hit to center, Colts pitcher Meghan McIntosh shut the Knights down to end the inning. In the bottom half, the Colts had two hits with two outs. Shannel Blackshear singled to center, and Alicia Banks singled to left, but Blackshear was thrown out at third to end the inning.
