BISBEE — In addition to a special-use permit request for an art gallery and cultural exhibit in Dos Cabezas (see Page A1), the Cochise County Planning and Zoning Commission on Wednesday will hear:
-- A request to approve rezoning for Abelardo DeAnda, who wants to establish a construction material and storage site on 46.89 acres near Sierra Vista off Highway 90. Planning and Zoning staff has recommended approval.
-- A request to approve rezoning of 161.5 acres at 5376 North Highway 191, north of Douglas from RU-4 to HI made by Rahim Kabir who wants to establish an international warehousing/trucking industrial park, truck stop and service station. Planning and Zoning has recommended denial, based on a number of factors including lack of support from adjacent property owners.
-- A request to approve rezoning eight acres of a 19.17-acre tract at 375 Buffalo Lane in Whetstone from RU-4 to LI for fleet truck storage and portable chemical toilet storage by Charles Spegal. Staff has recommended denial based on non-conforming use of land, lack of community support and other criteria.
